Cottage Information

Port View is a charming cottage, full of character, offering ground floor accommodation and wonderful estuary views from the living room and bedroom. Entrance leads into hallway and through to attractive living room, full of interesting artefacts, open fireplace with living flame gas fire, comfy seating (sofa-bed) and dining area. Well-equipped kitchen with terracotta tiles and butler sink. Pretty twin bedroom and shower room with shower, toilet and basin. Shared use with owner of waterside patio garden complete with swing seat. Owner may be resident in separate first floor accommodation. Colour TV. Video. Microwave. Electric cooker. Fridge/freezer. Washing machine. Bed linen inclusive. Double sofa bed. Gas and electricity inclusive. Gas central heating £20 per week payable at time of booking. 1 well behaved pet considered. Garden furniture. Road parking in village. Beach adjacent. Pub and shops 200 yds. Strictly no smoking.

Shaldon Area

Port View looks straight out across the water at Shaldon towards Teignmouth - an ever-changing scene with fishing boats and sailing dinghies, sharing the estuary with the resident swans and other seabirds. Shaldon is a delightful village with waterside inns and restaurants serving fresh seafood, local shops including a bakery and a sandy beach, ideal for families and sailing enthusiasts. There are plenty of interesting places to visit here including a small wildlife zoo, botanical gardens and a smugglers tunnel leading to Ness Beach. A passenger ferry goes to and  from Shaldon beach across to Teignmouth - a traditional resort with a long stretch of sand, a popular heated open-air swimming pool, coastal cruises and fishing trips.
