Experts are predicting that this up and coming autumn half term could be one of the biggest in terms of holiday bookings, with a leading travel comparison website already seeing a sizeable rise in families looking for the perfect last minute break.

In information published by TravelSupermarket.com, they have experienced a 19% increase for people in search of some late sun during the half term (26 October- 4 November) compared to the same period last year. Experts believe there could be a number of different parameters which are responsible for the surge, including the extensive rains experienced during the summer as well as the Jubilee and Olympic celebrations which took place earlier in the year.

Earlier research by the website indicated that 58% of people who had planned to go away would do so after the London Olympics had finished, possibly another reason for the current surge in holiday interest.

If you are one of those looking for a last minute holiday experience, why not discover the beauty of south Wales in one of the idyllic Saundersfoot cottages?
