The 42nd year of the Tenby Boxing Day Swim was hailed a success as figures and photos have revealed that the event is as famous as ever. Almost 600 people took to North Beach for the annual event.

Known by many as one of the top festive highlights in Britain, thousands of pounds were raised for charity when brave swimmers and fancy dress fans ran into the sea. There is a great turn out each year from both swimmers and spectators, whatever the weather brings to the Pembrokeshire coast. This year was no different with many partaking in the Sporting Heroes fancy dress theme in honour of the success of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A success year after year, one of the main attractions of the Boxing Day Swim is the beautiful scenery that surrounds Tenby cottages; there are few places which make such a beautiful setting for a refreshing winter swim. Although the Tenby Boxing Day Swim is one of the big events of the year, a walk along Tenby's beaches or a swim in the sea can be looked forward to in any season.
