Pembrokeshire's popular Folly Farm recently celebrated a new addition to the zoo with the unveiling of its brand new penguin enclosure.

The official opening was late last week and crowds from across the country came to watch the zoo's penguins at play. Edwina Hart, Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, was the person charged with cutting the ribbon to mark the opening, helped by children from the local Tavernspite Primary School.

The construction of the new area took over 6 months and £500,000 of investment. The two acre site will be able to house up to 40 penguins, though the zoo's population is currently only 25 so there's plenty of room for growth!

If you're thinking of visiting the region, maybe staying in one of the local cottages in Tenby, and want to see the new addition for yourself, you can find all the relevant information over at the Folly Farm website.
