With the New Year well and truly welcomed, Pembrokeshire puts on a program of events to satisfy every taste. From the nostalgic not yet ready to let go of the festive period to Scottish poetry fans gearing up for Burns Night, the Welsh coast has everything you need.

Robin’s Red Riding Hood Pantomime

If Christmas seems to have passed far too swiftly, you are in luck. The 11th January will see Saundersfoot’s Regency Hall turned into ‘Rottingham’ as the production of Robin’s Red Riding Hood gets underway at 2pm. Those staying at one of the many cosy Saundersfoot holiday cottages are in for a treat, as the production promises to have every age crying with laughter at the evil Sheriff of Rottingham and Robin. Tickets cost just £6, with concessions at £5, and are available locally from The Regency Hall and Saundersfoot Post Office.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Talk

If the festive period has left you feeling more sherry than merry, a coastal walk may be just what you need. The 21st of the month sees author and photographer John Archer-Thomas host a talk on the geology and natural history of the northern part of the famed Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Held at the Foundry House Community Centre, Pembroke, the event will give those on Pembrokeshire cottage holidays in the local area further information to take with them along this historic section of coastline. Due to start at 7.30pm with the talk finishing at 9.15pm, both members and non-members are welcome, with prices for members just £1.50, or £2 for non-members, to include a choice of tea or coffee.

Burns Night Dinner & Dance

Saturday 25th January sees the annual celebration of Scottish poet Robert Burns marked with a traditional Burns Night feast and dance at the Picton Centre in Haverfordwest. Featuring a traditional two course supper of haggis, as well as traditional Scottish music to accompany the dancing, this is one night hosted by the Elderly and Pembrokeshire Circle that no-one is likely to forget in a hurry! Starting at 7pm, tickets cost just £10 in advance.
