Pembrokeshire looks to welcome February with a fantastic programme of cultural events for its local residents and visitors to enjoy, from film festivals to jazz music, with the region showing that the winter is still a great time to visit. So, escape the wild weather with a few of the entertaining events being held this month.

Spaghetti Western Film Festival

If you are looking for a break from the weather during a stay at your coastal Pembrokeshire cottage, Fishguard provides the perfect occasion - the Spaghetti Western Film Festival. Located in the cosy cinema Theatr Gwaun West Street, it offers the ideal refuge from the cold and wet that might be looming outside. Taking place over the weekend of the 7th-9th February, the festival showcases the very best from the Wild West.

SpanJazz Kevin Davy local rhythm trio

For those looking for something a bit more slow-paced than the pistols and lassos of the Westerns, then the Dingle Club in Narberth is where you need to be on the 19th February. Kevin Davy is a jazz musician from London whose career has spanned an impressive three decades and has produced a series of accolades, including the prestigious Manchester Jazz musician of the year award in 1992, which was presented by BBC Radio Manchester show The People. Tickets for the event cost just £7 to hear a musician whose influences range from Don Cherry to Hannibal.

Castlemartin Range - History and Habitats

To round off February’s events, the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales has put on a nature and history talk that is set to entice many families staying in dog-friendly Saundersfoot cottages on the 18th February. Held at the Foundry House Community Centre between 7.30 and 9.15pm, the MODs Ranger for Castlemartin Range, Lynn Houston, is to hold a discussion on the nature and history the range supports and is home to, making it a great event for visitors to the area who may not realise what fascinating wildlife and history surrounds them.
