Few things would seem to connect the National Trust and notorious hard man actor Vinnie Jones but the two have found common ground over a sensitive issue that could have a dramatic impact on Wales. The National Trust has recently called for a ban on shale gas extraction in the country’s beauty hotspots – an aim that is shared by the former Welsh football captain.

Vinnie Jones, known for his football talent and appearances in such films as ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch’, has expressed his concern over fracking and the pollution it could bring to Wales’ coastline.

The Pembrokeshire coastline is one such area the two parties hope to protect through their campaigns so that visitors can continue to enjoy the natural beauty of the area during their stays in holiday cottages in Saundersfoot.

This recent article detailed the extent of the damage that could occur as a result of fracking in Wales, with fears over contaminated water and harm to plants and wildlife being among the biggest threats.
