Broad Haven

A great seaside resort in the South East corner of St Brides Bay, but not to be confused with the beach near to Bosherston with the same name.  It is a lovely blue flag awarded beach for all the family to enjoy and there is an opportunity for surfing and windsurfing here.  Children will love to explore the rock pools at the North end of the beach to see what has been left behind by the tide.

The beach is long and narrow consisting of sand and pebble although at low tide it reveals a huge expanse of sand.  The beach has cliffs on each side providing some shelter and at low tide it is possible to walk around the headland to Little Haven – although do be careful with the tides, they can catch you out!

There are a couple of car parks at Broad Haven, toilet facilities and an RNLI lifeguard from July to September.  The village has a general store, a couple of pubs – The Galleon and The Royal and a cafe.  There is also a shop which sells paddle boards, wet suits and surf boards; you can also hire kayaks from here.

Broad Haven is only several miles from Haverfordwest which is the county town of Pembrokeshire with a bigger variety of shops and the Cleddau River running through the middle of the town.  In Haverfordwest every Friday the town hosts the farmers market selling all fresh local produce.
