Description

The School House is a traditional stone cottage, converted from the former school masters house, standing back to back with the Village Hall, previously the school, in the quiet, rural hamlet of Walwyn’s Castle, within two miles of the coast at Little Haven and 5 miles from the facilities of Haverfordwest. Walwyn’s Castle is within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and with the Rosemoor Nature Reserve on the doorstep. An ideal, central location for touring Pembrokeshire coast and countryside. This property makes the perfect base for exploring all that Pebrokeshire has to offer. Take a day trip to St. Davids, and visit the 12 Century Cathedral, or have a day out on the boats visiting the gorgeous Islands around the coast, that are home to Puffins, Seals, and even spot some Dolphins and Whales cruising by. Spend a day on the glorious beaches of Broad Haven, Little Haven, and even Marloes Sands, there is plenty to do for all the family, and for all ages.

Accommodation at the property comprises:

Entrance Hall: with space for storing coats and boots.

Sitting Room: carpeted, with two sofas, TV with built-in Freeview and DVD player, electric flame-effect stove or open fire. Partly open-plan to the adjacent

On the first floor:

Bedroom One: a good sized room with beamed ceiling, king size bed and pine bedroom suite.

Bedroom Two: similarly presented, with twin beds, with double duvets for additional comfort.

Heating is by night storage heaters with convector boost downstairs, convector heaters upstairs, all with timers and thermostatic controls.

Outside: The School House sits in enclosed, lawned grounds, with picnic bench on the patio area. Parking for one car within the enclosed grounds and the free to use community car park is adjacent to the property.

Family attractions in the area include Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park. There is lovely local walking including the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and day boat trips to Skomer Island to see Puffins and other wildlife, from the Lockley Lodge Visitor Centre, 9 miles away. The picturesque seaside village of Little Haven and the long sandy beach at Broad Haven are each about 3 miles away, and there are other lovely beaches within a short distance. Reviews

Always good quality.

Mr Michael K,

The School House was in an idyllic setting , next to a church and cemetery which meant the neighbours were very quiet lol! The enclosed garden was just enough for our 2 girls (5+7) to ride round and round and make dens and play, and there was a nature reserve about 100m from the house. The garden kept the sun until the last and we stayed out until about 9pm each night trapping the last of the sun in the yard. We generally went out for the days and explored different beaches /castles/parks/walks - there was plenty to do within half hour drive. The School House itself does not have any immediate amenities nearby, but we wanted the super private tranquil retreat after long days out and thats just what we got. Good Job !

Mr Jamie P,

Just few bits and bobs could be better, one more w/c and good towels and throws on sofa bright curtain would make cottage more grand and welcoming . Overall we have active holiday with kayaking, trekking and family fun everything was nearby and beeches loved the holiday . Sorry forgot to pick our food box in rushing out .

Mrs Rama R,

We stayed at the property last September so we're already familiar with it- it is in an excellent location- very quiet and peaceful but within easy travelling distance for most places of interest. A very comfortable and restful property which we will visit again ??
