Description

This self catering Pembrokeshire accommodation is within a newly converted 17th century water mill in Pembroke. Located in 30 acres of private grounds in Pembrokeshire National Park the cottage provides a fantastic base to explore all that Pembrokeshire has to offer. This includes 50 superb beaches with sailing surfing and kayaking. Pembroke cottage holidays are also great if you’ve got little ones in tow with dolphin and whale spotting trips fun-filled Folly Farm and much more. Foodies and historians will take great pleasure from Pembrokeshire’s many castles and botanical gardens to the round-the-year food festivals and famers’ markets.

Ground Floor

Large reception area and a staircase leading up to Pembroke Retreat.

The cottage is located on the first and second floor within one half of the renovated mill house.

There is a commercial kitchen and a spacious dining room on the ground floor that can be used exclusively by guests when the whole building (i.e. both apartments) is booked by one party therefore allowing them to all eat & cook together.

There is also a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Spacious living room complete with leather sofas and widescreen TV (freeview & Sky ) DVD player and IPOD docking station / music centre.

Location

This self catering Pembrokeshire accommodation is one of 2 self catering units within a large former mill set on 30 acres of private grounds and within a 5 minute walk to the restaurants pubs and shops in the town centre. The nearest beach is just a 5 minute drive from your Pembroke cottage holidays and there are 7 golf courses within a 15 minute drive.

Pembroke itself is a small town surrounded by its ancient Town Wall - much of which is still standing. Standing proudly at the head of a rocky ridge and surrounded on three sides by water is the magnificent Pembroke Castle. It is one of the finest and best preserved Norman Castles in the country. It is easy to see why Pembroke was declared a conservation area in 1977. In the town you will find plenty of local traditional inns and taverns.

Within easy reach of Pembroke cottage holidays are the resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot; the historic and revitalised dockyard towns of Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven; the castles of Manorbier and Carew; the magnificent beaches of the South Pembrokeshire Coastline; the popular market town of Narberth; the picturesque 24 mile Haven Waterway and of course the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. All of this plus many man-made attractions and activities can be found in the area. For all you water sport fans and beach lovers no other county in the UK has more seaside awards or blue flag beaches so whether its surfing kayaking and sailing or just relaxing in the sand there’s a beach for you.

The nearest being just 5 minutes away and there are another 49 within driving distance. If food and drink is more your sort of holiday there are local traditional Inns taverns and restaurants all within walking distance of your Pembroke cottage holidays. Pembroke Retreat is only 5 minutes away from the Irish Ferry port and with boats running twice daily why not pop over to explore Ireland for the day? There are numerous family attractions in the area including theme parks activity centres water parks zoos and wildlife centres water sports go karts paintball archery horse riding on the beach birds of prey boat trips to explore the local islands and many many more.

Beaches

Freshwater East is the closest beach to the cottage facing east sheltered from prevailing winds and is ideal for families. 4 miles. Barafundle Beach has been voted many times as one of the best beaches in Britain and the world; it’s often likened to a Caribbean beach only better! 4.9 miles

Water Sports

The ultimate in watersport adventure offering jet-ski seafaris kayak hire motor boat hire towed watersports wakeboarding and kneeboarding. Tenby Watersports. 11 miles

Walking

Whether you’re after a gentle stroll or a week-long hike it’s right on your doorstep and a watering hole to quench your thirst is never far away. Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. 0.5 miles

Fishing

Only a short trip from the cottage there is good sea fishing in Milford Haven (the worlds’ second largest natural harbour). 8 miles Fishing and sightseeing boat trips from Tenby 11miles or Milford Haven. 8 miles

Golf

South Pembrokeshire Golf Club has a wonderful 18 hole course which presents a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all abilities all year around. 3.5 miles
