Saundersfoot restaurant gains TV chef

Written by Powells Holiday Team on

A brand new restaurant is to open in Saundersfoot this month, offering some new and exciting culinary delights for locals and visitors to this exquisite area of Pembrokeshire to try. Not only will this superb new restaurant offer visitors some fine views over Coppet Hall Beach, but food will be served by renowned chef Will Holland, famed for his appearances on the likes of the BBC’s Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen.

Having spent some 15 years in the industry, becoming head chef of Michelin star restaurant L'Ortolan at just 25, Coast, the new beachside restaurant with exquisite views on the south Pembrokeshire coast, is set to be in very capable hands. Holland achieved Michelin star status at just 29 years old at La Bécasse, another Alan Murchison restaurant, and even attained an Acorn Award for his culinary expertise.

A stunning location

The location alone, overlooking the peaceful Coppet Hall Beach that is so popular for walks with those staying in family Pembrokeshire cottages in the area, is enough to make hungry visitors flock to Coast, but knowing that the talented Will Holland is at the helm makes this new restaurant a must when visiting Pembrokeshire.

To his credit, Holland has made his love of Pembrokeshire evident at every stage of the restaurant opening, with photography of local landscapes by Chris Warren adorning the walls and an impressive list of local Pembrokeshire producers supplying his kitchen – Coast is set to be a real showcase of Pembrokeshire talent. The contemporary build will soon be open to the public, where they have the choice of the impressive terraced seating area to make the most of the exceptional views of Coppet Hall Beach and Carmarthen Bay or the cedar clad restaurant area to enjoy Holland’s impressive menu.

With the final preparations now being made ahead of Coast’s grand opening during the week of the 14th April, there has never been a better time to visit Pembrokeshire. With a few Easter Saundersfoot cottages still available with Powells Cottage Holidays, there is still time to book a holiday during the restaurant’s opening week!
