The Christmas season is here and hopes for the New Year are on the horizon. For those of you travelling to western Wales this December, there is plenty to keep you entertained and guaranteed to keep a smile on your face.

Cottage holidays in Pembrokeshire are great, and are even more special during Christmastime. To help you make the most of your time, here is what’s going on this December:

Fun in the Winter Mud

On Saturday 12 December, it’s time to get dirty with the annual “Man up! Mud Run”. A winter test of guts and fortitude, Pwll Caerog Farm in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is set up to test endurance athletes with a 4.5-mile mud and obstacle race. The race is a lot of fun to take part in, but even more fun to watch.

This year’s race starts at 10am. For more information, please visit the event website.

Enjoy the Pantomime

Jack & The Beanstalk captures the seasonal spirit of the panto season at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven. The event promises to be big and bright with plenty of good times for all. The production features the return to the stage by Dion Davies. Tickets are available from the Torch Theatre.

There are also a variety of Christmas choir concerts across the region. Rhosygilwen are hosting their annual Christmas Concert on 19 December. This year’s event features tenor Robyn Lyn along with the Three Tenors. The Islwyn Evans’ Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion Choir will also be part of the performance.

Tenby Boxing Day Swim

The village of Tenby hosts an annual celebration when hundreds – all complete in fancy dress – take the chilly plunge into the sea to support a number of different charities. The Tenby Boxing Day Swim features over 500 brave souls. The swim starts at 11:30am on the village’s North Beach.
