A last minute breakaway in Pembrokeshire

Written by Anita Lee on

There is nothing more exciting than a last-minute breakaway to Pembrokeshire.  With a raft of things to see and do it certainly will not disappoint.

Pembrokeshire really suits all kinds of people, from those who thrive on adrenaline fuelled pastimes like coasteering, to more sedate activities like walking part of the coast hugging footpaths, for example.  This county has a range of fantastic beaches, some beautifully sandy, others with exciting rock pools to explore and lots with a refreshing pub just a short distance away.

If you’re not keen on sand and you must admit it does get everywhere, there are the enchanting Preseli Hills and a rich tapestry of countryside to explore.  Observe ancient ruins of historic castles and burial stones, it must be said this county is absolutely bursting at the seams with them.

With family holidays looming, be prepared for the kids incessant nagging of ‘What are we going to do today’ and ‘I’m bored’, well Pembrokeshire offers a list as long as your arm of great days out, so the kids shouldn’t utter these words at all. It’s not just the beaches which will keep them entertained, it’s also wonderful places like Folly Farm, Heatherton, Battlefield Live and Oakwood, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. However we have got an array of terrific sleep 2 properties , if you feel the need to escape!

If you do decide to up sticks and take a breakaway, you don’t have to stress about who will look after the family dog, bring it with you!  We have a selection of excellent pet friendly cottages ready and willing to accept your hounds.  It’s a huge playground for your pet, with over 50 beaches in Pembrokeshire to snuffle. Many allowing dogs all year round and some observing a partial ban, you’re bound to find the ideal one. There’s also picturesque woodland walks along estuaries and seaside towns and villages to browse.

The beauty of self-catering is not being set to a schedule, you can choose to eat in or eat out on the patio, or garden at your holiday accommodation.  Although it’s also nice to have someone else wait on you, cook, and do the washing up!  Pembrokeshire has an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes and pubs serving up wholesome tasty creations. If the weather is kind there’s nothing better than a picnic on the beach watching the sunset on a long Summers day.

A break is a break, whether it’s a long weekend, Monday to Friday or a standard week, if the property is available and not booked we will always do our best to accommodate a last-minute break.  Give us a call on 01834 812791, drop us an e-mail at, and take advantage of our flexibility and our friendly approach when booking your next stay.

So, what are you waiting for!
