It may be the end of the summer holidays, but that by no means suggests that Pembrokeshire is closing down for the winter. With a jam-packed programme of events this September, the Welsh county proves once again that nowhere is better for a short break away than Pembrokeshire cottages by the sea.

Ironman

First up is that event we have all been waiting for – Ironman Wales. Drawing thousands of people to the Welsh southwest coast each year, Ironman Wales cottage accommodation has been booked up months in advance in anticipation of this special event. Taking place on the 14th September, Tenby is renowned for being one of the best Ironman locations for atmosphere as the whole town comes out in force to support the participating athletes. Whether you’re competing or spectating, with top TV chef Gordon Ramsay even set to take part as reported in this previous article, it is sure to be an incredible day for all!

Tenby Arts Festival

For those looking for something with a slightly slower pace, the Tenby Arts Festival is one that can be enjoyed by all. Now in its 27th year, the Tenby Arts Festival will be held between the 20th and 27th September. With choirs, sea shanties and poetry readings to listen to, there will be plenty for your ears to feast on during this great Welsh festival.

Narberth Food Festival

If that wasn’t enough of a feast, the Narberth Food Festival over the 27th and 28th September is sure to quench your appetite. Weekend tickets cost just £5 in return for entertainment and top chef demonstrations, making it a great weekend for all the family on holiday in Pembrokeshire this September.
