Pembrokeshire to hit the small screen on the BBC

Pembrokeshire is set to hit the small screen this week as the BBC Cymru Wales production of a new TV series set in the picturesque Welsh county airs for the first time this Thursday. The all-new series will follow the lives of locals who live along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, as well as those who regularly work or travel along the route.

Pembrokeshire: Coastal Lives is set to air on BBC Two Wales at 7.30pm on Thursday 7th November, and will be available on the iPlayer following the broadcast, with the first episode following the James family as they prepare for a family wedding on their farm. Those who have stayed in Pembrokeshire’s holiday cottages could even catch a glimpse of themselves in this heart-warming new series, as some of the filming for the programme took place at this year’s Really Wild Festival in St Davids back in May.

The opening episode will feature the Fairy Cafe at Llanwnda, as recycling guru Buzz prepares for the large number of summer walkers that take to the path, and a mackerel catching competition between Ben and Jono on the Pembrokeshire waters. The series will also bring to light the maintenance that is involved in keeping this popular tourist spot functional by following path wardens Rich and Ozzie as they look to preserve the unspoilt Coast Path.

The main event of the James wedding takes place at Treginnis Farm - which is just a half hour drive from the widely visited destinations of Tenby and Saundersfoot holiday cottages - and lets viewers see all the hard work that goes into wedding preparation on the farm, with determined mothers and unpredictable weather to contend with.

Pembrokeshire: Coastal Lives is set to further promote the natural beauty of the local area through the real lives of the people who live there. With 186 miles of glorious Coast Path as the backdrop, the programme looks to portray Welsh life while showing off the county's enviable coastline.
