Jeffreyston

This is a small village in Pembrokeshire an ancient settlement with a parish church.  There used to be a village green where the village fair would have been held in the 1920’s.  Only 6 miles from the Victorian seaside resort of Tenby.  Therefore this pretty village is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the nearby coastal towns and villages.

It’s a great base in which to explore the delights of Pembrokeshire with Folly Farm being just less than 4 miles.  Folly Farm is one of Wales’s top attractions with a varied selection of animals ranging from lions, monkeys, penguins, giraffes to farmyard favorites’.  There are also both indoor and outdoor play areas for the children to let off steam.  There is ample parking at this attraction and lots of places to buy food and drinks or you could make use of the picnic areas and take your own packed lunch.

Jeffreyston is not far from a supply of stunning beaches like the beautiful Barafundle Bay, sandy and backed by sand dunes.  There is a bit of a walk from the car park across the top of the headlands to this beach but it is well worth it.  There are no toilet facilities here or anywhere selling food or ice creams, accept of course the tea rooms just by the car park so therefore refuel before you go in search of this beach.

Just over a 5 mile journey from Jeffreyston will take you to Carew Castle and Tidal Mill a lovely piece of Welsh history.  There are lots of events held at this venue and hunting a dragon is just one of them!
