A brand new television advert launched earlier this month is aiming to promote the beauty of Wales to the rest of the world, with families being targeted as a major focus of the campaign. With families being hugely important to the overall tourism of Wales, whether in terms of family getaways in Pembrokeshire or other regions of the country, the advert looks to advertise the wealth of activities and adventures that can be enjoyed by visitors both young and old.

Saundersfoot Harbour to be redeveloped

Pembrokeshire has secured over £600,000 worth of funding in a bid to redevelop the iconic Saundersfoot Harbour. The funds, secured from European regional funds, are being awarded in a bid to boost tourism in the area and local jobs. The announcement came on 8th January as First Minister Carwyn Jones visited the harbour.

Hundreds turn out for Tenby Boxing Day swim

Organisers have revealed that the 2014 Tenby Boxing Day swim has been a massive success, with hundreds of swimmers braving the weather to take a dip. The famous Tenby Boxing Day swim has been running since 1970 and this year’s swim attracted an estimated 400 swimmers, despite the freezing temperatures and rain on the morning of the event.At 11am the hundreds of swimmers lined the shoreline at North Beach in their fancy dress outfits in front of a huge crowd before plunging into the freezing sea.

Beautiful rare sea slugs found in Pembrokeshire

Beautiful and rare sea slugs have been found off of the Pembrokeshire coast, just another testament to the incredible wildlife which this part of the UK boasts.The rare "Nudibranchs" were spotted during an annual survey by the Welsh Government sponsored body, Natural Resources Wales (NRW). They were spotted deep in the sea near the Skomer Marine Nature Reserve in Pembrokeshire, the first and only MNR in the whole of Wales and a popular area for a stay in a Pembrokeshire holiday cottage.
