Red phone box in Pembrokeshire becomes information centre

An interesting new tourist information centre has opened in Pembrokeshire, which stands as perhaps one of the smallest of its kind.Following the purchase of an old red telephone box in Sardis, the Saundersfoot Community Council – with help from local volunteers – have transformed the box into a font of knowledge for the surrounding area.

A team of underwater cleaners from Pembrokeshire have had their efforts praised after appearing on BBC's The One Show last Friday. Trio of baby meerkats causing excitement at Folly Farm

Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire has been celebrating the birth of three meerkats who have been welcomed as great additions to the existing mob at the park and are already proving hugely popular with visitors. Regularly named as offering one of the top days out for those on their holidays in South Wales, Folly Farm is home to over 250 animals from 50 different species including the royal python, Bactrian camel, giraffe, barbary macaque and the Brazilian tapir.

Pembrokeshire County Council has shown its full support in assisting Saundersfoot Harbour in its bid to become a Marine Centre of Excellence, it has been announced. A measure which could see a significant increase in both conventional and marine tourism to the harbour, it has always been regarded as a hotspot for wildlife, and only last week visitors could admire a breathtaking display from a pod of playful dolphins.

The standard of restaurants across Pembrokeshire has been highlighted following the release of the latest Wales Waitrose Good Food Guide, with three eateries being given the seal of approval in the acclaimed guide. One of the restaurants awarded a place is Llys Meddyg, a Newport-based restaurant which aims to offer a fine dining masterclass to all of its customers. Tenby Lifeboat heralded as great success by organisers

Organisers of the Tenby Lifeboat Week have celebrated the event as a fantastic success, with thousands of pounds being raised for the local lifeboat crew. They were quick to offer a special word of thanks to the generosity of those who visited, with RNLI volunteer collectors raising a total of £2,336.70, funds which are sure to help the Tenby lifeboat crew continue their fantastic work in protecting the region's coastlines.

Heatwave having tremendous effect on Welsh tourism

There has been a noticeable increase in the number of holidaymakers in Wales according to tourism figures in the country who are celebrating the effect of the heatwave. After the best July for many years in terms of weather, tourist levels in a number of popular areas of the country surged dramatically.
